This spring Sarah was awarded the IMPALA Silver Award for over 27.000 sold copies of her debut album Gast auf Erden (Jazz/Soul arrangements of old church songs by well known German church-song lyricist Paul Gerhardt (1607). The VUT (=Association for indepent music companies) awards the IMPALA Silver Award to artists who have sold over 20.000 copies of a particular album. Congratulations, Sarah!

The first concert of Sarah Kaiser and Band will take place on Saturday, April 11th at 8 pm in the Mozartsaal at Liederhalle Stuttgart.

 

... on March 11th and 12th, Sarahs vocal jazz quartet Berlin Voices will be musical guests of star pianist Joja Wendt in the Hamburg Laeiszhalle.

 

Due to scheduling problems the concert at KITO Bremen on May 3rd has to be moved to a later date. We will post it here once it is set!

The following Wednesday, Reformation Day, Okt 31st, the Sarah Kaiser Band will be giving a concert in Berlin Spandau at St. Nikolai church. Starting time is 7 pm - this will be the last Berlin concert for a long time (at least til April 08)... love to see you there!

12 concerts, 12 places, 12 days - the Sarah Kaiser Band and word-artist Andreas Malessa, great Tourmanagement (profile productions), over 4000 concert attenders, lots of great resonance and many special moments - on March 12th, on Paul Gerhardts 400th birthday, Sarahs first tour this year celebrated its last evening. The young, spirited Gospel Choir Soul 2 Soul, directed by Sarah Kaiser, will have its final concert at the Berlin Passionskirche in Kreuzberg on Jan 28th: almost 6 years ago, Soul 2 Soul was founded by Sarah Kaiser and the Jugendkirche Marzahn gegründet. In the meantime, it has grown to over 20 talented members and looks back on numerous wonderful concerts and one CD-Release. Celebrate with us one more time, January 28th, 19 h in the Passionskirche.

4 full weeks lie behind Sarah. Last night saw the ending show of the Bert Kämpfert Tour with the Berlin Voices, hr Bigband and special, musically exquisite guests in the Berlin Friedrichsstadtpalast. But no vacation yet... the final production phase for Sarahs new, jazzy CD "Geistesgegenwart" (German word play, meaning "presence of the Spirit") is on, and the next weeks will be filled with the Spirit of Advent... see "live" for details...

At the end of October and early November, the Sarah Kaiser Band toured Switzerland and Austria and had some very nice concerts there; in Switzerland among others at the Richterswiler Jazztage, in Austria in Graz and Vienna among other place...

this summer/fall is studio time - in June/July 06 our first official Berlin Voices CD was recorded - great Billy Joel Songs exclusively arranged for us. Find out where and when this record will be released at www.berlinvoices.de. Then in September the basic tracks for my new album "Geistesgegenwart" (translated: presence of the spirit) were recorded in the Kangoroo-Studio Karlsdorf (thanks Edo, Vilko and Thomas for the great atmosphere!) - everything live, and this is going to be a great record! Right after this the Berlin Voices went to the studio again, this time with the HR BigBand, Jiggs Whigham, Sylvia Vrethammar, Joja Wendt a.o. to record "Strangers in the Night - the music of Bert Kämpfert". We will be on tour in Germany in November (see live for details). And I will be on tour with my music starting next weekend. So stay online and see ya at one of my next concerts! Yesterday, Feb 16th 2006, the Berlin Voices had the honor of singing Hans-Jochen Vogel a birthday greeting. At the Social Democratic Party celebration of his 80th Birthday the four Jazzvocalists made up the musical program in between speeches of Peter Struck, Bernhard Vogel and other well known German politicians. The celebration was aired live on Phoenix TV.
